There is little to no talk in the MSM about the British soldiers in civilian cloths with bomb making gear who were arrested by the Iraqi police and then busted out of jail by a British tank - it apparently wouldn’t be the first time the Brits have used this type of tactic.
In the long run it won’t really matter except for the loss of credibility they should suffer but, thanks to an apathetic western population that would simply rather not know what is being done in their names, will probably not.
“Iraqi law is very clear: British forces remain subject to British jurisdiction.
“Even if such a warrant was issued, it would therefore be of no legal effect.”
British forces spokesman Major Steve Melbourne said the two men had immunity from prosecution under an arrangement between the Iraqi government and coalition forces.
With a get out of jail free card like that there is nothing but morality and honour to to prevent the coalition from doing whatever it wants - leading to no real surprise in some of the events that have transpired. Never fear dear believers in the righteousness of the coalition, like so many other things in the George W I’m a war president and we found the weapons of mass destruction Bush “War on Terror” this too shall pass and another vile enemy of good deeds and light will be ultimately vanquished - even if it has to be manufactured so that it can be.

Those who claim that the dreaded MSM have a universal and vicious anti-American (and consequently anti-Iraq war) bias should take a close look at the way this story was covered.
I read three papers most days, as a rule: the Globe, the Citizen, and the National Post. One carried the story front page, the other as a A-2. The pattern of the story was in all three cases was: Lead with British spin on story: counter with Iraqi rebuttal: finish with British rejection of Iraqi rebuttal. No significant investigation of the Iraqi counterclaims was ever carried. There were no editorials.
