The (Right)WingNut filling in for O’Reilly this morning (somebody Gibson) is muttering on and on about how intelligent design should be taught along side evolution in the science lab lest the poor students be done a severe educational disservice.

Ah… right dude, and on the astronomy field trip we can teach them about astrology, and while we’re talking about the creation of the universe by a divine and benevolent supernatural entity we can test them on their knowledge of alchemy in metalergy class, and tarot card/palm reading during that tedious few day session everybody gets on mathematical probability in stats class.

Seriously though (I mean it, I’m serious here now, all joking aside - really… quit grinning over there!!) I suppose the bigger question is which of the various divine supernatural entities accredited with creating the world will they test the kids on? While I don’t happen to subscribe to the theory the Hopi Spider Woman creation myth is pretty damned cool, really, one divine entity taking some earth and mixing it with saliva and creating man and woman is every bit as plausable as another divine entity taking some earth and creating man then putting him to sleep and taking one of his ribs and making a woman out of it - isn’t it?
