On June 26th we noted the death of Ahmad Wail Bakri at the hands of US occupation troops - at the time Bakri was reported as the third Iraqi journalist killed in similiar incidents in one week…. ultimately we found the story in the North American press - 20 paragraphs into an article in the Leesville Daily Leader (Texas) - but not without a whole lot of searching to find it.
US reporter Steven Vincent was killed in Iraq this week - the US military didn’t do it - it’s all over the news and it’s all over the blog-o-sphere.
Now I don’t want to minimize the guys death, but I do have to ask why his reported all over hells half-acre, and the deaths of other journalists barely (if at all) rate mention?

Unfortunately, sympathy and outrage are in direct correllation with nationality.
Why should 3 reporters get special treatment? The US is not tracking and reporting civilian casualties, what makes these guys so special?
US Reporter = important American citizen
Iraqi Reporter = collateral damage
