U.S. Calls Killing of Anti-Syrian Lebanese Journalist `Heinous’

June 2 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. condemned the killing of a prominent anti-Syrian Lebanese journalist in a bombing today in Beirut.

It’s a heinous act,” Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said of the killing of Samir Kassir, 45, an editorial writer for the Lebanese An-Nahar newspaper and a frequent commentator on Alhurra, the U.S.-funded, Arabic-language satellite television channel.
