We just tuned in to see what (Right)WingNut Bill O’Reilly has on the go this morning, we’re getting a best of Bill show with the usual anti-whatever format - this rerun includes some anti-Canadian spin where his guest Dr (I missed his last name - if I catch it I’ll edit it in) just announced to the masses that Canada
“is utterly dependent on the United States”We’re back to that again are we? In case anyone has forgotten about a couple of things allow us to once again highlight that the United States is very heavily dependent on Canadian oil exports, they are also very heavily dependent on Canadian hydro exports… it is an inter-dependency and, as I’ve mentioned before, possibly we should remind them of that fact in a more forceful way, maybe by, in the interests of looking after domestic concerns, cutting down on the amount of electricty we send across the border that allow (Right)WingNuts like O’Reilly to mutter their nonsense to the masses.
That sort of thing seems to be about the only way of getting their attention these days.
I can’t say your utterly dependant, but not far. Close trade between us and we’d just adjust while you’d collapse.
We consistently hover around a 5 billion dollar trade deficit with Canada.
As for holding back oil, go ahead. We’ll just buy more from Saudi, Venezuala, or any other of the countless suppliers out there. That’s leave you with exporting overseas and it’ll cut into your purse strings.
Christ, push the issue hard enough and we’ll just drill our own rather than drain yours.
