Coming from the US department of “leave-the-propaganda-to-us-because-we-like-what-we-say” it’s no big secret that Bush doesn’t like Al Jazeera, the Bush administration doesn’t like Al Jazeera, (Right)WingNuts like Hannity, Lumbaugh, Savage, their like, and their assorted adherents, don’t like Al Jazeera……. as a matter of fact just about anybody who doesn’t like coverage of things like the US invasion and continuing occupation of Iraq from a point of view that runs contrary to the Bush administration line and western values, doesn’t like Al Jazeera.

Reading this morning about Bush administration complaints, to a foreign government in the Middle East no less, that Al Jazeera

….broadcasts have been inflammatory, misleading and occasionally false, especially on Iraq.

… nearly floored me though - just one more example of their blatant hypocrisy that, for some strange and unknown reason, the pro-Bush / pro-war faction either doesn’t see, chooses not to see, just plain ignores, or excuses because “it’s not the same thing”.

Any of us could make exactly the same claims about Bush, his administration, and general Whitehouse statements, concerning Iraq - and be 100% accurate. Administration statements, and Bush’s personal statements have been “inflammatory, misleading and occasionally false, especially on Iraq”, and if you don’t think that’s a fact why not take a little walk down memory lane with me and consider a few of their statements about danger posed to the US, mobile chemical labs, airborne drones, biological & chemical weapons, nuclear weapons, Al Quada, Iraq & September 11/2001, and, of course, the much publicized finds of Iraqi WMD and each ones related, although far less publicized “oops, we were wrong”.

And while we’re taking that little walk, and as painful as it may be, don’t shy away from remembering about the nearly 80% of Americans who believed that Iraq was directly involved in the September 11/2001 attacks in New York. How do you suppose that happened? Could it possibly be because of (gasp) inflammatory, misleading and occasionally false information? Especially on Iraq?

And people still ask me why I think they have no credibility.
