The thought strikes me that those who were so energetically defending the Vietnam vets during the last US election who they claimed Kerry was besmirching with his claims of atrocities committed by Americans should be up in arms over this whole torture/abuse spin.

Was not one of their primary claims that the torture many endured was the result of Kerry’s statements, and has not that torture now been reduced to simple abuse by the recent defination fronted by the Bush administration?

….. or is it still torture when the “other guys”^(tm) do it?
