Do you approve of the way Bush is handling the
Economy?
- Nope
Iraq?
- Nope
The war on terror
- Yup
Social Security
- Nope
Health Care
- Nope
At this point low approval ratings mean nothing to Bush, he knows he’s basically got free reign for the next 4 years until he’s gone for good so what does he care? Given that he has worked very hard to link the war on Iraq and the WoT it is interesting that the American people give him a failing grade on the first but a (slightly better) D-minus on the latter.

You forgot question six…the big one they asked in November.
It just goes to show that fear trumps everything else.
Unfortunately the poll doesn’t tell us whether people disapprove of the courses of action, or just feel the courses aren’t being following strongly or extremely enough.
How does one take an “extreme” course of action regarding Social Security and Health Care? I’m curious.
Actually the answers to the big question of early November make these answers all the more confusing…. unless of course the fear factor was the deciding one during the election – but I’m sure the right said that wasn’t the case didn’t they?
The poll doesn’t tell us whether people are dissatisfied that S/S is up for reform, or is not being reformed enough. Ditto whether people want more government involvement in health care, or for government to back out (eg. prescription drug benefits).
Considering that the handling of the topics listed above has been along partisan idealogy, I think that the correct inference is easy to make.
It’s not easy for me, at least, to infer. I’ve read plenty on the web written by people who supported (and continue to support) Bush but are irate over those issues I mentioned, as well as others.
