May 1, 2003: George W. Bush flew onto the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln in S-3B Viking aircraft, strutted across that deck, stood at a podium backdropped with a banner that read “Mission Accomplished”, gave everybody a big thumbs up, and announced “Major combat operations in Iraq have ended.”
