Bush Demands Facts on Iraqi WMDs
President Bush says he wants to know why U.S. intelligence analysts said Iraq was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. The threat from those weapons was the president’s biggest justification for going to war, but none of those weapons has yet been found. The president stopped short of endorsing calls for an independent panel.hasis mine)
Of course he stopped short - there is way to much potential for an independent investigation to be, well…. investigative, and Bush does have that election coming up. Can’t have to many potentially embarrassing questions asked - - or answered - - at this point in the game can we?
I do love the fact that Bush as the balls to demand something like this given the number of instances where pressure on the intelligence community to have findings conform to political wants and desires has been reported on. Does he really think everybody has forgotten about that… or does he just plain think people are stupid?
