Well no $%&^ Sherlock - do ya figure?

( CBS News ) - A Senate panel is preparing a report that will sharply criticize intelligence agencies for overstating the weapons of mass destruction threat allegedly posed by Iraq, a newspaper reports.

Personally I think they should move a lot higher up the chain than the CIA, given what we know about how the Whitehouse operates under G.W.B. they should send their criticism right to the top.

But the CIA says the panel is drawing conclusions prematurely, since the weapons hunt is continuing in Iraq.

Given what Bush&Co told us about these weapons of mass destruction and their imminent threat to the world as a whole and the United States in particular one would think “something” would have shown up by this time. The fact is though that there have been no nuclear findings, no biochemical findings, and no chemical findings - they have turned up conventional weaponry, a couple of balsa wood and duct tape drones that didn’t look like they would perform to well at any model plane event in the western world, and some trashed airplanes in a sand dune…. that the threat was overstated is the biggest understatement of this decade.
