[Guardian Unlimited] US kills three more in Sunni triangle
Standing by the grave of his dead brother, Sheikh Abed Asalam Jamil says he is happy and calls for a jihad against the US Army. ‘Everyone in Iraq is a mujahid,’ says the imam, whose brother, Zamal Jamil al-Juleimi, was killed on Friday night as he returned from a doctor’s appointment with his family. ‘The people of this country will raise the flag of jihad.’
More ‘regrettable accidents’ resulting in more innocent people killed by ‘mistake’ resulting in more dissent that the American military will have to put down, that will result in ….. well, you get the picture.
[Washington Post ] House Probers Conclude Iraq War Data Was Weak
Leaders of the House intelligence committee have criticized the U.S. intelligence community for using largely outdated, “circumstantial” and “fragmentary” information with “too many uncertainties” to conclude that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and ties to al Qaeda.
But that doesn’t matter does it? Bush says they are doing good things now and that’s what’s important - let by gone’s be by gone’s, forget the mistakes of the past, focus on the future and all that good stuff.
[Yahoo News ] Iraq postwar insecurity began in Washington
Iraq (news - web sites)’s stubborn guerrilla war, electrical blackouts, looting and chaos were born in Washington — as US officials missed cues and battled over ideology, said a report.
So there you have it:
- a country invaded and innocent civilians killed in attacks to combat threats that were based on poor intelligence
- more innocents killed during an occupation that had no plan
- political interference in the process at the highest levels, and
- a much touted CPA that is everything but representative of the Iraqi people
It’s about damned time that people, even those who backed this war in the beginning, started asking questions isn’t it?
