Iraq largely cooperating……
Says this article at Yahoo News. While the Iraqi government did not get a glowing report of undying co-operation and friendliness neither did the U.S. get the the smoking gun it was looking for.
So we’re back where we started a few months ago. The Iraqi government will claim that they have no weapons of mass destruction on the basis of the report and maintain that any U.S. attack is without justification or provocation therefore giving them the right right to defend their territory against an illegal aggressor in any way they see fit; the U.S. Administration will claim on the basis of the same report that the Iraqi government has not been fully co-operative, has breached U.N. Resolution 1441, continues to represent some sort of undefined threat to their (U.S.) citizens specifically and the world generally, and maintain their “sovereign right to take military action on Iraq alone or in a coalition of the willing,”
My prediction: It is not unreasonable to believe that if the U.S. enters Iraq they will win. This will probably happen with significat losses to the attacking force that will be used by the U.S. Administration in attempts to further demonize the Iraqi leadership and its military forces.
This plan will backfire as those sheeple who are content to eat what the conventional media feeds them, and the right wing that believes all the proganda to be an ultimate truth anyway, extend their new found or heightened fears to include all countries in the Middle East and the people who are from them leading to demands for isolationist immigration laws and racially motivated acts of volence that will of course be answered in kind and the circle of violence will expand.
Further; the Middle East in general will have a heightened and justifiable fear of U.S. intentions in the region that will develop into a new found unity that the western world just might find to be less than friendly.
